Cub Scout Uniform (Class A)
Whenever you see a person in a uniform, you get a quick sense of who they are and what they do. The members of a sports team wear their uniforms to say "I belong to this group." Even superheroes wear uniforms to say "I'm one of the good guys, and I stand for what's right." Just like all of these people, Scouts also wear a formal uniform, and for the very same reasons. As a Cub Scout, your son belongs to a special group of people that gives service to the community and they too have made a promise to do their best to be one of the "good guys." Wearing the uniform is a way of saying these things to everyone who sees them.

What to Wear
Items for the Cub Scout Class "A" Uniform include the following:
Shirt (short-sleeve recommended)
Insignias: World Crest, Pack Numeral (205), and the Erie Shores Council patch
Neckerchief and slide (rank appropriate i.e., Tiger, Wolf, Bear, or Webelos)
Optional:
Hat (rank appropriate i.e., orange for Tiger, yellow for Wolf, blue for Bear, or plaid Webelos)
Belt and rank-appropriate buckle
Pants or shorts (Optional: blue for Cub Scouts or Olive for Webelos)
Socks (rank appropriate socks must be worn with shorts)
Notes:
Belt can be worn with jeans or other pants/shorts. It is handy to wear the belt so the Belt Loops can be displayed as they are earned.
T-shirts and/or short-/long-sleeved sweatshirts can be worn under the shirt as desired
The U.S. flag is already sewn onto the shirt, and so is not purchased separately
All other insignia; e.g., Quality Unit Award, Bobcat patch, etc., are provided by the Pack as they are earned and awarded
Unless your den leader says otherwise, Scouts should wear their Class "A" uniform to all Scouting activities---not only den and Pack meetings, but every activity in which they take part with other Scouts.

How to Wear the Uniform
When a boy wears a Cub Scout Uniform, he is representing the Cub Scouts of America, so it is important to wear it correctly. A quick checklist:
Shirt tucked in (this is #1)
Hat on straight
Neckerchief and slide straight (tips of material should be even)
All required insignias in the right place
Patch Placement
Each rank book has specific information and pictures of where your patches should be placed on your uniform.
